What are the rules and regulations of the BYEE ?The BYEE is designed to empower young entrepreneurs by giving them hands-on experience running their own business. Parents must refrain from selling, promoting, or interacting with customers directly during the expo. Any parent found doing so will disqualify their child from the competition. Registration & Participation: Children must be 5 to 18 years old and capable of managing their booth independently (set-up, customer interaction, sales, order fulfillment, and payment handling). Parents may help with the application but should step back during the expo. If a child cannot perform these tasks alone, they should either partner with an older sibling, reduce their offerings, or wait until they are ready. Parent Code of Conduct: Parents cannot engage with customers, handle food or money, or take orders. Parents can assist with restocking products and supervise but must not leave the venue during the event. If the young entrepreneur leaves their booth, a "Be Back Soon" sign should be placed. Selling Rules: Vendors must sell at their table, not walk around. No loud music, yelling, or bartering. Gloves must be worn when handling food. If sold out, display a “Sold Out” sign and enjoy the rest of the event—do not break down early. Clean-Up: Participants are responsible for their own trash and cleaning their area before leaving. Failure to adhere to these rules will result in disqualification from the competition.

When is the deadline to sign-up?The application deadline for entrepreneurs is Friday, April 18th. Space is limited so don't delay.
-
What can my young entrepreneur sell during the expo?Children CAN sell handmade, store-bought, food, games or services. NO raw food allowed. NO animals allowed- unfortunately we do not have the capacity to accommodate animals on this campus NO fundraisers allowed. (i.e. Girl Scout and/or Boy Scout products). NO CBD products. Children may NOT sell goods on behalf of their parents. Children must have an active role in the acquisition and/or production of their product.
-
What if someone else has the same business idea?Healthy business competition can promote innovation. We allow the customers and market forces to run its course when dealing with two of the same kinds of business ideas at the expo. Although we do not restrict multiple businesses that are similar, we will inform the later applicant that another entrepreneur has a similar business. This will allow the later applicant an opportunity to decide if they would like to make any adjustments to their business plan.
-
Will electrical outlets be available for use?Electrical outlets are limited. Vendors can request outlet access on their application, and assignments will be made based on submission order. You will be notified via email in advance if an outlet is available for your booth.
